Lynae Parker is a detective in the homicide division of the Grand Rapids police department.  She is Jo Riskin's partner and best friend.  Although she is fiercely loyal to her friends, she enjoys nothing more than a good laugh and is prone to merciless teasing. .

Lynae graduated from Grand Valley State University's Criminal Justice program.  She was the shortstop on GVSU's softball team and still plays competitively, although not nearly as competitively as she would like.

Although she's had her share of trouble in the past, Lynae remains a positive force to be reckoned with.
